- Peace House Park City
This was a redesign project aimed at accomplishing two main objectives: make the site easier to maintain for Peace House staff and improve the overall user experience. The Expression Engine Content Management System easily fulfilled the first objective and drew accolades on the very first experience. The second objective involved numerous conferences with stakeholders, which resulted in a simple statement of purpose and mission. With that as a reference, information architecture and user experience designs were developed, which aligned the site with Peace House business objectives.
The visual design remained essentially the same, but a few new icons and navigation elements were created to give the site a more friendly feel.

- Utah Motorcycle Training
SLCC runs a highy regarded Motorcycle Training program that teaches the Motorcycle Safety Foundation curriculum. The program is open to the general public, so they wanted a web presence that was independent of the main school site. In addition to providing information on the courses offered, they wanted an online system for administering the program, including the ability to post and view class schedules and a bulletin board system for their coaches.
A big emphasis was placed on creating a pleasant and efficient browsing experience for site visitors, allowing them to easily find and explore important information, such as course types and schedules.

- Costa Rica Explorations
This was a redesign project of an existing site. The original helped them build their business to the point where they were ready for the next level in features and flexibility, including the addition of a CMS so the owners could maintain the site themselves. ExpressionEngine was a perfect fit. This site has strong graphic ties to a sister site I created for Costa Rica Escapes.

- Tanya Taylor Productions
A local dance company run by the indefatigable and enormously talented Tanya Taylor. The site serves as a course catalog for her many dance and performance classes and includes a calendar for her upcoming productions.
Parents can register online for classes, and tickets can be purchased for performances.

- Costa Rica Escapes
Costa Rica Escapes provides authentic travel experiences for those seeking something out of the ordinary in this beautiful Central American country.
The ExpressionEngine content management system provides the perfect means for organizing the site content and keeping it up to date without the complexities of many other CMSs

- Park City Motorcycle Club
This was one of those “labors of love” that we so rarely have the opportunity to engage in. Since I am an avid motorcyclist, I had a deep well of experience to draw inspiration from and all the motivation that comes from doing something near and dear to my heart - web design and motorcycles!
The site features loads of nifty features for members, including a ride and social calendar, a community bulletin board to post items for sale, and a “story” section where members can post tall tales from recent trips. Finally, the ExpressionEngine Content Management System provides powerful tools for the Club Officers to maintain membership rosters, handle online renewals, and keep the site up to date.

- Bernadette Translations
A website has become de rigueur for independent contractors like Bernadette Translations. It provides an extra measure of credibility for the business and can even help attract new business since online search is the most common way to look for solutions.
This site is built on the Concrete5 Content Management System, which is perfect for independents who wish to occasionally update their sites but do not want to spend lots of time learning a more complex CMS.

- Mountaintainlands Community Housing Trust
MCHT is focused on affordable properties in the Park City, Utah area. One truly valuable service to the community is the resources section, where seasonal ski industry workers can find rental properties - this is especially useful as many of them are arriving from far away places.
The site includes features that allow local property owners to list rentals; a related feature allows those who are looking for a rental to post their particulars.

- Wellspring
Wellspring Child and Family Counseling Center has been around for some time and well known for their excellent staff and their studied approach to counseling. This was their debut with an online presence.
Cinda Morgan, Wellspring’s Director, was a joy to work with. She put a lot of effort into working with me and steering the development effort towards her goals: a website that reflected Wellspring’s values and one that would be easy for them to keep up to date.

- Utahns for Ethical Government
UEG is an advocacy group promoting ethics reform for State Legislators. This was a redesign of an existing Wordpress site, with the intent of improving overall usability and focusing attention on “call to action” items, such as signing the petition and donating to the cause. There was a huge amount of information, so it was quite a challenge.
The new site was built on Expression Engine. Categories were used to better organize the large archive of existing material as well as providing a means for highlighting important new articles. The site includes a number of different methods for making donations, including an interactive map of Utah that allows visitors to apply their donation to specific areas of the state.

- ATIA
On the occasion of their 30th anniversary, The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta celebrated decided to replace their old website with something that reflected current values, had a modern look, and supported Web 2.0 features. In addition, they specified a Content Management System so that they could easily update and add content. A major feature of the site is the online directory, which allows users to search for language specialists based on various parameters.
Another ExpressionEngine site. It handles all of their current requirements and gives ATIA plenty of options for the future, including an online store and subscription-based content.

- Trinity Academy
Trinity Academy is a brand new private school serving Park City and the surrounding area. They bring a really interesting approach to teaching known as The Classical Method of Education, which follows a particular pattern of learning called the Trivium (more on their website). This is a simple but effective website that addressed their modest needs (and budget). The ExpressionEngine CMS allows them to maintain their site in-house.

- Park City Academy
Park City Academy is a private school with a decidedly 21st Century constituency. Although their former site was attractive and informative, it was essentially static and lacked Web 2.0 features such as support for user-contributed content. This is another ExpressionEngine project.

- iDoggieBag
iDoggiebag is a charitable organization that is focused on food alerts for pets. Their signature bags have been endorsed by various celebrities and they are involved in numerous benefits and special events. The home page includes a real time RSS feed from the Nipper Alert - the aforementioned pet food alert system, and another feed from the FDA. Visitors can buy a bag in the online store and/or make a donation.

- The Hunt
The Hunt is an annual fundraising event that challenges skiers and snowboarders to find clues along the trails of Park City Mountain Resort. The three teams with the best finishing times win some great prizes, and everyone is guaranteed a good time. Proceeds are applied to a scholarship program. The site changes during the course of the year - a few months before the event there is an online registration page where competitors can sign up. After the event it becomes showcase for the actual event, with a slideshow of activities and finishing times for the top teams.

- InnerSpaces Design
Innerspaces Design is a Park City based interior design firm that offers some really unique services in this crowded marketspace. They decided that a website would be an important component of their marketing program - this was their first venture into the world of online marketing, so it was an interesting project for both of us!
